Ghosts I-IV - Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails were the most popular industrial group ever and were largely responsible for bringing the music to a mass audience. It isn't really accurate to call NIN a group; the only official member is singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Trent Reznor, who always remained solely responsible for NIN's musical direction (he was, however, supported in concert by a regular backing band). Unlike the vast majority of industrial artists, Reznor wrote melodic, traditionally structured songs where lyrics were a focal point. His pop instincts not only made the harsh electronic beats of industrial music easier to digest, but also put a human face on a style that usually tried to sound as mechanical as possible. While Ministry crossed over to heavy metal audiences, NIN built up a large alternative rock fan base right around the time of Nirvana's mainstream breakthrough. As a result, Reznor became a genuine star and his notoriously dark, brooding persona and provocateur instincts made him a Jim Morrison-esque sex symbol for the '90s. A long period of inactivity and writer's block followed, which gave virtually every alternative metal band of the late '90s a chance to rip off elements of NIN's sound. By the time Reznor's five-year hiatus finally ended, he was still a popular figure but his commercial momentum had slowed somewhat.

Ghosts I–IV (also known as Halo 26) is the seventh studio album by Nine Inch Nails and was released on March 2, 2008. It contains 36 instrumental tracks and was recorded in ten weeks of autumn 2007 and is the first Nine Inch Nails album released without a record label contract.[1][2][3] Initially expected to be a five-track EP[4], the album is presented in the form of four nine-track EP's. The tracks do not have names, and are only identified by their track listing, position, and album art.

The album's initial release on the official Nine Inch Nails website suffered problems as the website crashed upon the album's release, and was not fully operational until March 4, 2008 because, according to Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, they needed to add extra servers to the site to handle the influx of downloaders. The album is also available for download on Amazon MP3. A 40-page PDF document of the album's liner notes was included with the official downloads. The PDF can also be requested for download at the official website. A week after the album release, the official Nine Inch Nails site reported over 750,000 purchase and download transactions, amassing over 1.6 million dollars in sales.

My Aim Is True is the debut album by Elvis Costello.
The album was recorded at Pathway Studios in Islington, London, over the course of 1976 during late-night studio sessions, in a total of twenty-four hours. It was the first of five straight Costello albums produced by Nick Lowe.
The cover art features rows of tiny black and white checks (surrounding the photo of Costello) on which the phrase "Elvis Is King" is written. Costello's pose on the cover would become an iconic look for him, with the Buddy Holly glasses and the knees bent inwards together. He struck a similar pose in the photo on the back of the original sleeve.
The musicians who were featured on the album were uncredited on the original release (due to contractual difficulties), although the backing band was made up of members of the band Clover, which included Huey Lewis, (although he was not present for the sessions) who went on to later fame with The News.
In 2003, the TV network VH1 named My Aim Is True the 80th greatest album of all time. In 2003, the album was ranked number 168 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
